Tastemaker Weekend Blogger Preview in Healdsburg
Emily Martin Communications and Events was excited to partner with the Healdsburg Tourism Improvement District in previewing its upcoming Tastemaker Weekend January 24-26, 2020. A group of Bay Area bloggers enjoyed a lovely getaway weekend in one of our favorite locals. See all the adventures of the weekend from the images below captured by the amazing Kelsy Shaffor.
Guests started out the day with a cooking demo and tasting from chef Mateo Granados’ Yucatan-inspired delicacies. Emily and fellow bloggers even got to make homemade masa tortillas!
Join Chef Mateo Granados as he heats it up in his Yucatan-inspired restaurant kitchen for a one-of-a-kind cooking class during the Tastemaker Weekend Sunday, January 26th. More info for the Tastemaker Weekend here.
It wouldn’t be a proper getaway without a little shopping to support our local Healdsburg merchants.
We took a stroll with the Healdsburg Running Company. If you plan to attend Tastemaker Weekend, pack your shoes and enjoy the walk, light jog, or running path. It’s a great way to enjoy the off beaten path and see more than just downtown. It’s apparently what everyone in Healdsburg does so join the locals!
The next stop was Costeaux French Bakery. They offer divine pastries and were fully prepared to welcome guests with the holiday spirit, including Santa’s chair, a selection of nutcrackers and a holiday choir! You can join Costeaux GM Will Seppi and head Pastry Chef Karah Williams for an afternoon exploring Pâte à Choux, a classic light pastry dough that is versatile for savory and sweet treats alike during the Tastemaker Weekend events.
We enjoyed some delicious holiday inspired cookies while watching the bakers in the back. It was a “sweet” behind the scenes view.
Emily and guests were able to make Pâte à Choux, a classic light pastry dough that is versatile for savory and sweet treats alike. We filled ours with cheese for the perfect savory bite. You can join Costeaux GM Will Seppi and Head Pastry chef Karah Williams during tastemaker weekend to try yourself.
Harmon Guest House right in downtown Healdsburg is a newly opened hotel we adore. And they offer amazing rooftop views that are perfect for a little happy hour or dinner bite.
Our group was all smiles with this stop at the Harmon Guest House with fireside fun and stunning views.
Sunday morning we made a stop at Journeyman Meat Co. for a tasting and learned about the various types and selections of salumi. This is always a great spot for Sunday brunch and we have taken guests here quite a few times, each time they love the amazing food and the fabulous hospitality owners Pete & Cathy Seghesio and their team share with their guests.
We, of course, made a stop for dinner at Valette. It is one of Emily’s favorite places to enjoy in Healdsburg.
We were lucky that Hotel Les Mars was hosting a tasting, as they do daily for hotel guests. And it was even more special that it was with one of our favorite wineries and clients, Robert Young Winery.
We cannot thank The Healdsburg Tourism Improvement District and our guests enough for helping us have such a fabulous weekend. And, we can’t wait for you all to enjoy the upcoming event weekend January 24 - 26. More tickets and information are available online.
