Gary Farrell Sunday Supper Virtual Winemaker Dinner

We recently hosted a Sunday Supper Virtual Winemaker Dinner through Zoom with Gary Farrell Vineyards & Winery and several of our fellow wine media and bloggers. It was a delicious night with food, wine and good company. See more of the fun had below.

For the event, Gary Farrell Winery will provide three wines and easy-to-make recipes for a three-course dinner, as well as a detailed shopping list and preparation timeline. The concept is you get the wines ahead of time, make your own dinner then enjoy a seated dinner with the Gary Farrell team, in this case, their house sommelier Tiffanie AND their Winemaker Theresa. Typically guests will be hosted by one Gary Farrell Winery team member.

Our dinner included the Gary Farrell 2014 Chardonnay, Bacigalupi Vineyard; 2014 Pinot Noir, Rochioli-Allen Vineyard; and Dulcette, a Port-style dessert wine. The wines were selected to pair with the recipes, which included a first course of White Bean Crostini with Kale Pesto, the main course of Lemon & Herb Roasted Chicken with Yukon Potatoes & Crispy Spring Vegetables, and a dessert of Dulcette Marinated Berries with Honey Whipped Mascarpone.

The cooking was half of the fun and each dish had a beautiful recipe (recipe card shown) with step by step instructions as well as reminders for when to take a wine break (my kind of instructions).

Each event will be hosted by winemaker Theresa Heredia and estate sommelier Tiffany Kuhn, with Heredia introducing each wine and fielding questions. We loved seeing these familiar faces while being socially distant with the virtual aspect.

And, of course, the dessert was our favorite part. This Dulcette, a Port-style dessert wine was fabulous.
