Clubhouse Guide: Everything You Need To Know
It seems like everyone is talking about Clubhouse, the newest kid on the block when it comes to social media platforms. Straddling the rising popularity of audio & voice products, Clubhouse has been exploding in usage. Even social media giants like Twitter have launched their own similar product (read about Twitter Spaces here). Here’s everything you need to know about Clubhouse, and whether or not it fits in your marketing plans.
As a brand communication channel, Clubhouse provides an interesting avenue. While most social media is reliant on text, images, and video, Clubhouse is audio-only. You join “rooms” on a variety of topics, and participate as a speaker, listener, or moderator. It’s that simple.
How do I get on Clubhouse?
To open an account on Clubhouse, you need to be sent an invitation from someone already active on the platform. It’s also only available on iOS (sorry, Android users).
How does it work?
Once you’re in, you can explore different topics and follow people or join groups that seem interesting to you. You can choose to be notified so when rooms are live, you can hop on ASAP. You can also see a schedule of upcoming events on your Clubhouse home.
Does my business need to be on Clubhouse?
There are a ton of ways you can leverage Clubhouse to your brand’s success. Being audio-only, it’s a unique form of communication between you and your audience.
You can be more authentic, intimate, and engaging with your audience than ever before simply because it’s real-time, and more conversational than any other social media. If you’re able to engage with your audience effectively, that immediately separates you from the pack and you’ll quickly grow a following on Clubhouse.
If you’re a rising fashion brand, hop on a relevant room to attract new fans or even converse with other business owners in a room dedicated to providing business advice. You can even pitch your ideas and strategies to see what other successful CEOs think. Then, once you feel confident, start your own room to engage new audiences with your product offering.
What’s your impression of Clubhouse? How has your business been using the platform? I would love to hear your ideas!
